You play the main character Gordon Freeman. Important non-player characters are your fiends Alyx Vance and Barney Calhoun, Alyx father Dr. Eli Vance and her pet-robot Dog. There are also your MIT mentor, the confused Dr. Isaac Kleiner and the mysterious G-Man as well as others...

As your opponents you meet Dr. Wallace Breen and the Combine forces as well as a horde of different alien life forms.

What clearly distinguishes the Half-Life Saga from other games is the quality of the story combined with the characters in it.

Beside the reveled story in the game play there is also an implied history as well as a suggested larger story, only partly revealed in the game.

Game fans have done detailed research in the games and the story is presented on different levels around the net.

The story begun before Half-Life 1 and continues next with the second part of the trilogy sequel in the aftermath of the events in Half-Life², being released October 9, 2007.

Now Available: Half-Life²: Episode Two [The Orange Box]

The second episode in the Half-Life² sequel trilogy is now available and was released as follows:

November 13, 2007 [Playstation on Amazon.com]

The suite, sold at retail and through Valve's Steam download service, will consist of the shooter sequel Half-Life²: Episode Two, the team-based multiplayer game Team Fortress 2, and the action/puzzle game Portal. The release is also known as " The Orange Box ".

The third part in the trilogy, Episode 3 has a been said to have a release plan for Christmas 2008. With Valve's history of pushing release dates, this is likely not to be realistic.
